This is today’s entry on my pastor’s blog….very well said. Words to live by.
A beautiful answer to prayer
About two years ago, a friend of an attendee of our Friday morning bible study came for a few weeks to visit. During this time, she shared with us, tearfully, how, at 29, she had debilitating back pain. It was so bad that she had to crawl from one place to another because she could hardly walk. It was all she could do to come to our study and sit in one place for 2 hours. This had been going for a...

Rain
Please join me in a continuous prayer for rain. It is so terribly dry here in South Texas. So many hard working families depend on the rain for their livelihood, farming.
A New Perspective
I am reading Jesus For President by Shane Claiborne and Chris Haw. Friday, in my reading, I came across this explanation of the word bless that has fully changed my perspective on the way I approach my God, my Father in Heaven.
Here is the paragraph:
God Bless America
Our friend Ched Myers does great work with the idea of “God Bless America” in his article “Mixed Blessing: A...

This is what it’s all about. Father, let us all love with the reckless abandon that the TWLOHA team does. Thank you for this ministry.

I got this from my friend Misty’s blog (www.secretsoforual.blogspot.com) this is truly food for thought. I am left speechless. If God has called you to be really like Jesus, He will draw you into a life of crucifixion and humility, and put upon you such demands of obedience, that you will not be able to follow other people, or measure yourself by other Christians, and in many ways He will...

prayer
Every time I turn around, another prayer is answered. Who am I that the Lord of all Creation would care to know my name? My heart is simply overfilled with this love and gratitude for my Heavenly Father. I just want to live for HIM and HIM alone. I pray for the patience and endurance to live each day in worship of HIM. To not let my heart and mind ever stray from HIS Holy Word. I pray for my...

We are but a grain of sand...
Yet our Heavenly Father, the Creator of the Universe, hears the cries of our hearts. He cares about His children and listens to them. He answers our prayers. My God has brought me to my knees in humility. He has answered a prayer in such a timely, loving, thoughtful, and specific way. I thank Him and praise Him.
Rules for living
I have a knitting friend I found online…and on her profile, she referred to the following quote from Micah that she applies to her life, and I wanted to share with you, and apply it to the life that I am living: He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. Micah 6:8
A prayer for myself
I came across this quote. My prayer is to be able to say these very words: Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me...
Addendum to Under the Sun
When I was reviewing the Under The Sun entry, I noticed that the quote from the bible that I was referencing didn’t show up. I went to edit mode, and it did show up. So in case you can’t see it, here it is again: ”And I saw that all labor and all achievement spring from man’s envy of his neighbor. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind. The fool folds his...

Under the sun
In my quest to take the life of Jesus as a personal example of the life I should live, I am so much more aware of every step I take, every action, every word (and yes, I fail, on a minute by minute basis). My heart aches because I want to do more for Him. I want to teach my children to live for Him. At times, I feel like I am floundering. I feel like my life is too….busy…..or crowded,...
